Description

My Shadow Days Are Over Now

Won the Times Photo Journal Landscape Photography Contest, October 2012.

There I was, standing amidst the heaven, soaking in that fresh air, thanking god for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

Hard times have helped me see. I’m a good man with a good heart, had a tough time, got a rough start. But I finally learned to let it go, now I’m right here and I’m right now. And I’m open knowing somehow, that my shadow days are over, my shadow days are over now…

You guys should definitely hear this song Shadow Days by John Mayer if you haven’t as of yet. Oh yeah, about this shot, it was taken at Bijli Mahadev, Himachal Pradesh, India, 7800ft above the sea level. And this wasn’t just one shot, it is a 120 megapixel panorama made by clubbing together eight photographs.

Now this is what India's about not the Orient nor Slumdog Millionaire!. I've had a look at some of your photos and what I really fail to understand is the surreal element, for instance, the clouds in this picture are really 'photogenic' if I may! ;) Did clicking this involving waiting or some photography mod? I hope this isn't noob-ish, I love your work and I'm kinda into photography myself so I want to learn more!
